One-to-one supervision gives you the opportunity to explore your practice as a leader on a regular basis, either face to face or by phone. In an organisational setting, Marion also offers Group supervision, which is a very rich way of gaining support for your practice and learning with and from other leaders. The group can be an in-house group of leaders or leaders from a number of organisations who meet regularly. Each member has their own time ‘slot’ to bring their particular leadership enquiry, as well as contributing to the learning of colleagues.

Why do I need a leadership supervisor?

Primarily to develop your competence as a leader. Having the opportunity to reflect on your practice with an experienced ‘sounding board’ and talk through tricky issues will help both you and your ‘followers’.

How is this different from coaching?

The key difference lies in the frequency of the meetings and duration of the relationship. Coaching sessions tend to be on a monthly basis with a defined number of sessions (usually between six and ten) whilst supervision is generally bi-monthly or quarterly over a longer period of time. Duration and frequency would be agreed and reviewed with Marion on a regular basis.
