Bespoke leadership development events

We know that the biggest predictor of success (professional and personal) is emotional intelligence. (Daniel Goleman. Emotional Intelligence / Working with Emotional Intelligence. Bloomsbury, 1998.) Leaders with average IQ but high EQ are more successful than those with high IQ and average or low EQ.

We design off–site leadership development events that are tailored to the needs of your business leaders. Our designs, which have at their heart the notion of Emotional Intelligence, are based on these principles:

  • Raising the leader’s self–awareness is key. Their awareness of their style, preferences, blind spots, their impact on those they hope will follow. Followers demand high levels of personal integrity from their leaders. Integrity grows from self–awareness of their strengths, limitations, values and, critically, from not pretending to be something that they are not. We help leaders develop a strong sense of who they are and what they stand for as leaders – which is, essentially, the core foundation of successful leadership.
  • The leadership context. Effective leadership is highly contextual – what does your organisation need of you as a leader at this point in time? We help leaders to broaden their perspective and develop their strategic leadership abilities. We help them to master the skill of crafting successful strategy and to understand how strategy can be derailed. We draw on the latest approaches to strategy building, including thinking that fundamentally challenges the way strategic leaders have operated for decades.
  • Igniting passion and creativity. If the leader isn’t excited about where the organisation is headed, he or she won’t motivate anyone else. We engage leaders in their own vision of the future then help them develop the capability to inspire those they need to motivate.
  • Real–world application is critical. We help them to identify business–critical issues and to apply their learning to those issues that matter most to them and to the organisation. Many of our designs are modular, so that real application and experimentation can occur between off-site meetings.
